It is the same as the current method in that it is a central cross-sectional view using a scale of 24/1, and the material and dimensions of each member are described in detail.However, it is only on one side.The Outfit Number (Number for Equipment), which corresponds to the standard number of outfits such as the size and quantity of anchor chains, ropes, etc., stipulated in the current ship equipment regulations, is entered in detail along with the formula.
In the latter half of the 1860s, steamships began to grow in size and various types of hulls appeared, and as a result, discussions were held on how to calculate the Number for Equipment in the Lloyd's Rule, and it was just after the revision in 1870 that the calculation was made. It is presumed that the formula is specified.
