[Holding schedule and theme]

January XNUMX, XNUMX (Thursday) XNUMX:XNUMX pm to XNUMX:XNUMX pm Venue: Kesennuma City Fish Market Conference Room

Theme: "Fishery industry and its future using underwater robots: Towards sustainable regional industries and bountiful seas"

Lecturer: Mr. Mitsuru Izumi (Professor, Department of Marine Resources and Energy, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology)

Abstract: An industry-academia-government consortium headed by Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology aims to effectively utilize sea urchin resources and create a sea rich in sustainable sea urchins and seaweed beds.A large number of northern sea urchins is occurring, which is thought to be partly due to changes in the environment caused by the earthquake. As a result, the decline of fishing ground communities has become a problem. For this reason, the effective removal of sea urchins using robot technology, the effective utilization of the removed sea urchins by artificial fattening technology, and the development and introduction of mechanization technology from shelling to peeling will contribute to further effective utilization of sea urchin resources and production sites. We are trying to accelerate labor saving and efficiency improvement.

Lecturer career: Graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 1978 after graduating from the University of Tsukuba's School of Natural Sciences. 2008 Executive Vice President (in charge of research and social contribution), Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, 2009-18 Director of Industry-Academia-Regional Collaboration Promotion Organization, 2015-2018 Vice President (in charge of industry-university collaboration and public relations), Sanriku Satellite Director, 2019- Deputy director of Industry-Academia-Regional Collaboration Promotion Organization, Doctor of Science.

The XNUMXrd event is scheduled to be held around mid-March XNUMX.
