2022/ 3/ 11
Our university concluded a partnership agreement with Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture at the end of 23, and has implemented various initiatives until now. Starting in May of the following year, we hold the ``Umi to Ikiru'' Series of Fisheries Seminars about five times a year for fishermen and fisheries-related businesses.
We would like to inform you that we will be holding the 8th Season 1st.
We will continue to accept online participation this term, so we are looking forward to your participation in a wide range of regions.
[Holding schedule, etc.] The first theme: "Smart fisheries information - Efforts of the Fisheries Information Service Center" Date and time: March 4, 3 (Wednesday) 23:15-00:17 Venue: Kesennuma Fisheries Training Center and Online Abstract: Japan's fishery production has continued to decline after peaking in the latter half of the 1980s, and in recent years has fallen to about one-third of its peak.In addition, the number of fishery workers is decreasing, the population is aging, and the consumption of marine products is declining (a shift away from fish). On the other hand, looking at the world, fisheries production is increasing due to the rapid expansion of aquaculture industry, and the consumption of marine products is also on the rise, so it is truly regarded as a growth industry. We will discuss why this is happening and whether we can get hints for reviving Japanese fisheries from around the world.
