Mr. Hosoda's career and work as an engineer so far
Mr. Hosoda provided a brief biography and a technical overview of his previous work.
After graduating from the graduate school of the former Tokyo University of Fisheries, he joined New Japan Meteorological Ocean Co., Ltd.After joining the company, he was mainly engaged in environmental assessment projects such as ocean current prediction and water quality diffusion prediction using numerical simulations.He was also involved in the development of an environmental diffusion prediction model for radionuclides in Rokkasho.All of them were complicated and difficult tasks, and it took a long time to repeat field surveys and experiments, which was extremely difficult.At the same time, he has been developing various numerical simulations related to the water environment since he studied ocean physics and flow models in Professor Matsuyama's laboratory.
He gave a detailed explanation of the flow model-based assessment work, showing examples of the Haneda Airport re-expansion project and the Isahaya Bay tide-receiving embankment in the Ariake Sea.
Idea company is focusing on technology development
He introduced the purpose and role of the four research institutes, saying, "Idea's specialty is its focus on technological development."Next, as for future business development, Idea Corporation's research cases were specifically introduced on themes such as disaster prevention and mitigation, asset management, global warming, and safety and security of the living environment.

In relation to the fact that the ordering method of public offices is changing from a negotiated contract to a price competition method (emphasis on price), a proposal method (emphasis on technical ability), or a method that evaluates both, Idea's engineers There was an introduction to upbringing.
Idea Corporation wants to compete with its technical capabilities, so it wants to apply for the proposal system, but the application requirements say that a professional engineer or a management engineer with RCC is required.Currently, professional engineers are ranked as the highest rank, and even if you have a doctorate, you need to get a professional engineer after joining the company.Therefore, we put a lot of effort into nurturing qualified personnel, and we hold study sessions called "skills cram schools" throughout the year.Technological development is also important to maintain technological superiority.Idea Co., Ltd. is looking for people who are motivated to acquire qualifications, have language skills, and are willing to take on the challenge of overseas business. It is necessary to be able to take on challenges outside of one's specialty, rather than thinking, "I can only do this."

First of all, practical experience is required, and then seniors will teach you how to write a thesis.Idea Corporation puts a lot of effort into training to acquire professional engineers, and so far many employees have been able to acquire it. (Mr. Hosoda)

Joined Idea Corporation as a long-term internship destination
Two years ago, Mr. Wang completed his internship and immediately joined Idea Co., Ltd., where he was trained.
Currently, I belong to the same water environment analysis department as I did during my internship.The Water Environment Analysis Department conducts data analysis of oceans, rivers, and lakes, and predicts and evaluates the environment using numerical models.I myself am mainly engaged in the analysis of observation data in coastal areas and the simulation of Ise Bay.
Introduction of Isewan Simulator
The technical content of the Isewan Simulator, which Mr. Wang is involved in, was introduced.It was explained that the Isewan Simulator is different from other simulators in that it focuses on hypoxia and faithfully reproduces it in more detail, and each function was explained in detail.
A model was created to evaluate how the construction of a new sediment disposal site in the Port of Nagoya would affect the fishery.There are about XNUMX parameters, and the simulation results and actual observed values ??are compared for various items, and it is a complicated task to adjust the parameters again while having the university professors look at it.We are making efforts every day to make the simulator highly reliable.
In the future, I would like to gain various knowledge and skills by experiencing various tasks.This field is still dominated by men, but if possible, I would like to aim to become a female engineer who can play an active role not only in Japan but also overseas.
