Mr. Kitada: I want to get a job as a researcher in aquaculture

What made me decide to go on to graduate school was the "sea turtle conservation activity" that I experienced in my third year of undergraduate school.
The shock that "it was completely different from what I had read in books!" led to my desire to understand fish both academically and in the field.
I was actively preparing for job hunting, such as visiting OBOGs and participating in internships.

Researchers who belong to a company have different ways of working depending on the subject of research.
When I was in charge of technology development for new farmed fish, I was required to work flexibly according to the conditions of fish farming.
Currently, I am in charge of analyzing aquaculture data, and my work is mainly office work.

The evaluation standard for research in companies is "creation of business value".
What I find rewarding is the close distance between research and society, and the diversity of research approaches.
If you are looking for a job, please clarify what you want to do and what you can do, and proceed with your career.

Mr. Kazuno: Focusing on work related to the environment

After graduating from undergraduate school, I decided to go to graduate school after getting a job at a private company.
During my undergraduate years, my focus was on studying, and I thought, "I should have done a little more."
In graduate school, I devoted myself to research every day, such as receiving an academic award for my presentation at an academic conference.

The most rewarding part of my job is being involved in a series of administrative processes and being able to deliver information directly to medical personnel.
At the seminars and workshops I am in charge of, I can gain new perspectives through working with medical professionals who are active on the front lines.
In addition to providing information not only to specialists, but also to those who do not have medical knowledge, we strive to provide detailed considerations that match the work we are in charge of.

When I was looking for a job, I first encountered the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency at a joint company briefing session, when I thought, "The nature of their business seems interesting."
The reason for the decision was that it was a policy implementation agency in the environmental field, and that I intuitively thought, "I like it!"
I hope that all of you will be proud of your strength of will and the humanity you have cultivated at the University of Marine Science and Technology, and proceed with your job hunting.
