Augmented reality (AR) truck rollover accident prevention experience system
[Details of award-winning research]
In recent years, container truck rollover accidents have become one of the most frequent and serious accidents, and the development of preventive measures is urgently needed.NHTSAAccording to the data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, rollover accidents are ranked as the second most serious traffic accident after collision accidents, and although the number of accidents is decreasing year by year, it still remains high annually.5000More than 100,000 cases have occurred in recent years. In addition, with the increase in transportation volume in recent years, multi-articulated trucks have been introduced, increasing the risk of overturning.ARWe have developed a technology that uses glasses to provide a rollover experience. This technology is based on the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology's 3D center of gravity detection theory, and visualizes and allows the user to experience the rollover limit of a vehicle. Specifically, the lateral acceleration (q) and its limitations (q maxThe aim of this is to enable drivers and developers to intuitively understand the mechanisms and risks of rollovers by visually displaying the vehicle's rollover risk in real time, allowing drivers to experience the timing and conditions under which a rollover occurs.
