1.What is the tutor system?
The purpose of the tutor system is to eliminate the inconvenience of studying and daily life for international students when they first enter university, and to increase the effectiveness of studying abroad.
2. XNUMX.Qualification requirements
In principle, applicants must be Japanese graduate or undergraduate students who are related to the international student's department (major).
In addition, if deemed necessary and appropriate, international students who are able to communicate well in Japanese may also be considered, but please be mindful of their experience living in Japan.
3.Tutor support period
First year after enrollment for eligible international students

Four.Hiring a tutor
Students will be selected based on the recommendation of the faculty member who accepts international students.
Other applicants will be contacted separately after selection.
Five.Tutor role
The content of support varies depending on the international student in charge.The contents described below are only a guideline, so please first have a meeting with your academic advisor (confirmation of support details).

(1) Support immediately after arrival in Japan

Support for starting daily life
- Take the child to a supermarket or other place for shopping, so that the child can start daily life from the next day.
- Accompany the person to the city hall or ward office to complete necessary procedures such as alien registration.
- Help with procedures such as opening a bank account, purchasing a mobile phone, and starting to use electricity, gas, and water.
- Explain how to dispose of garbage.etc
(2) Support for starting school life
Carry out the necessary procedures at the person in charge at each campus.
Advice on how to register for undergraduate and graduate school.
Tutors should refer to course guides, syllabuses, and graduate study handbooks to give advice.
Also, when registering for courses, please accompany international students to the office in charge and consult with them.

(3) Japanese language support
As for the Japanese language, I am currently conducting a Japanese language education course.In addition to advising the student to consult with the faculty member in charge, please provide guidance such as reading Japanese newspapers.
(4) Study support for study in specialized areas
We will introduce appropriate reference books, explain the content of experiments and practical training, and help organize class notes.
(5) Participation in international student orientations, social gatherings, etc.

(6) As a friend
As a friend of the same generation, explain Japanese culture and society in an easy-to-understand manner, and sometimes think together and strive to deepen mutual understanding.
(7) Part-time job
International students are required to obtain permission to engage in activities other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted at the Immigration Bureau before working part-time.

6.Implementation report

■Please note that payment will not be made if the report is submitted late.The report must be submitted by the 5th of the following month.In principle, submissions for multiple months will not be accepted.
7.Reward amount
Hourly wage 1,120 yen (from October 2023)
The amount of honorarium paid per month is capped at 1 hours, but the cap is capped at 10 hours only for one month during the tutor period.The upper limit of the honorarium payment amount may be changed in order to pay within the budget.
8.payment
Based on the "Application for Tutor Recruitment", as a general rule, the fee will be transferred to the tutor's bank account two months later.
9. XNUMX.Application method

(1) Request for tutor employment
If you have a specific international student who will be your tutor, fill in the international student's affiliation, student ID number, and name in Item 6.

If the tutor is an international student, please also submit the front of the passbook and a copy of the first page. (Needed to confirm the registered name of the account.)

(3) My number
In line with the enforcement of the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify Specific Individuals in Administrative Procedures from October 27, the university will issue a payment stating My Number to those who pay remuneration. A report must be submitted to an administrative agency.Please attach the required documents to the form below, be sure to seal it tightly, and submit it to the Accounting Section of the Accounting Division (10st floor of the Administration Building).
