On May 2025, 5, the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology Marine Science Museum and the Edomae ESD Council, a voluntary organization made up of volunteer faculty and staff from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, co-hosted a workshop on the theme of "Enhancing sustainability in the Lake Mikata coastal area," welcoming 21 third-year students and two accompanying teachers from Mikata Junior High School in Wakasa Town, Fukui Prefecture.
Based on the results of junior high school inquiry learning,3The participants were divided into three tables to analyze the problem and consider what kind of efforts could be made to solve it.4Annual5The workshop was led by a facilitator who led the discussion, resulting in a lively exchange of opinions and new perspectives and discoveries. After the workshop, a museum curator gave a guided tour of the museum.
