To commemorate the 5th anniversary of its founding on October 10, 1, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology will hold a commemorative lecture on August 20th (Tuesday) at the Etchujima Kaikan Auditorium (Etchujima Campus). Approximately 8 people participated, including guests of the university, faculty, staff, and students.

　The lecture began with an opening address by President Toshio Iseki, followed by greetings on behalf of the guests from Kazuaki Matsumoto, chairman of Rakusuikai, the university's alumni association, and Hiroshi Sekine, chairman of Kaiyokai, a general incorporated association. After receiving the gift, a congratulatory video message from Sakana-kun, a visiting professor at our university, was shown.

　Next, former university director Ruri Shoji (currently chairman of the National Institute of Maritime, Port and Aerospace Technology) spoke about the role the university should play from an outsider's perspective, and the university's expectations for the university. Mr. Toshiro Takeuchi, the former president of our university (currently an auditor for the Japan Student Services Organization), gave a lecture on his expectations for the university's operations over the past 20 years, with a speech entitled "The past 15 years and the future." He gave a lecture on the history and vision of our university from his perspective.Receiving the baton from former President Takeuchi, President Iseki gave a lecture entitled "To Achieve Vision 2040" about the future vision of our university.

　At the end of the lecture, a video of the school choir singing the school song was shown and the school song was introduced. After all the participants sang the school song, the meeting closed with a greeting from Director Masashi Maida.
