Our university's proposed project, "Program for Improving Capacity to Promote Joint Research on Fish Disease Control for Sustainable Aquaculture Production in ASEAN," has been selected for the 2024 Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Collaborative Partnership (NEXUS) Young Talent Exchange Programme, run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
Our university has implemented personnel exchange programs based on university agreements and Sakura Science, as well asSATREPSThrough international collaborative research such asASEANWe have strengthened our relations with other countries.
Based on these, this year,7The Institute of Aquatic Biotechnology, which was reorganized and established inASEAN Of4Countries (Indonesia[Bogor Agricultural University]·Thailand[Kasetsart University]?[University of the Philippines Visayas]·Malaysia[University Malaysia Sabah]) Young Researchers from Universities1Each participant will be invited to Japan to conduct joint research with young faculty members and graduate students from Japan, and young members from Japan will be dispatched to each university to deepen exchanges. In the end, the participants will present their research results at a Japanese academic conference. By sharing and experiencing the entire research process,ASEANWe will work to improve our ability to promote collaborative research with other countries on fish disease control.
ASEANIn order to sustain the rapid growth of the aquaculture industry in many countries, it is essential to control infectious diseases, which are the biggest obstacle to production. Through the implementation of this project, our university aims to strengthen the implementation system of joint research,ASEANWe will contribute to reducing the damage caused by fish diseases and developing the aquaculture industry in various countries.
