Akio Fujiwara, Vice-Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, visited Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology's Shinagawa Campus on Wednesday, February 2th.

At the Shinagawa Campus, after receiving an overview of the university from President Toshio Iseki and other university executives, we visited the Whale Gallery (displaying whale skeleton specimens), the University Library Archives Room (displaying rare books about the ocean), and a breeding experiment. They toured the laboratory (for research on raising eels, red sea bream, etc.), the registered tangible cultural property "Untakamaru", etc. The explanation was given by a young researcher from our university. Finally, we had a meeting with President Iseki.
