State Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Imaeda inspects Maritime University

Eight people from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, including Vice Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Soichiro Imaeda, Director of the Marine and Earth Division Yamanouchi, Director of Polar Science Planning at the Ocean and Earth Division Yamaguchi, and Director of the Industrial Collaboration Promotion Office of the Industrial Collaboration and Regional Development Division Sakoda, attended the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology on February 2th. We toured the Etchujima campus.

Deputy Minister Imaeda and his colleagues first received an overview of the university from President Toshio Iseki and other university executives, then toured the Important Cultural Property "Meiji Maru" and the hydrogen fuel cell hybrid experimental vessel "Raichou N". I took a test drive.

Afterwards, a roundtable meeting regarding startup support, etc. was held. At the meeting, Vice President Lou gave an explanation of the University of Marine Science and Technology's efforts to support start-up companies, followed by Goro Yoshizaki, director of the Aquatic Reproductive Technology Research Institute, associate professor Tetsuro Morita, specially appointed professor Tsuyoshi Ode, and professor Yutaka Watanabe. The participants introduced their respective research results and specific efforts toward social implementation, and a lively exchange of opinions took place.
