Ten students from Indonesia and Malaysia visit Tohoku University as part of the JST Sakura Science Program

At the Shinagawa Campus, the group experienced practical training in organ collection from virus-infected fish, virus isolation from cells, and virus DNA detection, learning the basics of disease diagnosis and control of fish and shellfish diseases spread through international trade. They also experienced cutting-edge research at the University's Tateyama Station, deepening their understanding of the importance of science and technology in the development of the aquaculture industry. This invitation also further promoted exchanges between the two schools and our university.
Our university will continue to focus on nurturing excellent human resources who can play an active role globally in the marine field.
