Deputy Director General of Fisheries Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Kingdom of Thailand visited our university
On March 5, 3, Dr. Praphan Leepayakhun, Deputy Director General of the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand (hereinafter referred to as "Thai Department of Fisheries") and his delegation visited our university.
Deputy Director Leepayakul and his party had a meeting with President Toshio Iseki, Executive Vice President for Education and International Affairs Masashi Maita, and Vice Dean Ikuo Hirono, and shared information on the importance of the fisheries industry in Thailand.Since 2018, the university and the Fisheries Department of Thailand have jointly implemented the "International Science and Technology Cooperation for Global Issues" with the support of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Project (SATREPS) (Title: Establishment of fish farming methods and domestication of Thai native fish and shellfish for the purpose of producing world strategic fish) will be completed in 2024. In order to maintain and develop a collaborative relationship with the university, we exchanged opinions on promoting mutual dispatch of faculty and staff, especially on promoting active exchange centered on actively accepting commissioned researchers.
The Fisheries Department of Thailand has a mission to strengthen aquaculture production, improve the quality of marine products, manage fishery resources, develop new fisheries technology, and develop human resources. I'm puttingOur university will continue to actively promote cooperation with the Thai Fisheries Department, and develop human resources who will lead the future through education and research under the SDGs philosophy.
