Overseas internship (Department of Marine Engineering, Department of Logistics and Information Engineering)
During the summer vacation, the "Overseas Internship" organized by the Department of Marine Technology, Distribution and Information Engineering, was held in Thailand and China. This program was part of the "Short-term Off-Campus Training (Overseas)" course offered by the Department of Marine Technology, and involved students gaining work experience at a Japanese company overseas for approximately two weeks.
This year, the program was held at a logistics company (Thailand, 2 students) and a consulting company (China, 2 students).2014It has been held every summer since the fiscal year 2018, but was canceled or held online for the past three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.2023Starting this year, the event will be held on-site again.
During the internship in Thailand, after training at a domestic warehouse, the trainees underwent on-site training in Thailand and carried out market research, and on the final day they presented their improvement proposals.
During the training in China, the students visited various local companies and worked on their training assignments. On the last day, a final presentation and closing ceremony was held online, attended by faculty members from the department, where the students received feedback on the work and exchanged ideas.
