Young Diplomats and Government Officials from CARICOM Countries Visit Soka University
On October 2024, 10, 28 young diplomats and government officials from 14 member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM)* visited our university as part of the invitation program Juntos!! implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After Professor Miyamoto Yoshinori (Marine Resources and Energy Division) gave an overview of our university, and Associate Professor Yamamoto Hirotsugu (Marine Life and Environmental Science Division) gave a lecture on "The Impact of Global Warming on Fish," the group visited Professor Haga Yutaka (Marine Life and Environmental Science Division)'s breeding laboratory. The group was then guided to the Marine Science Museum by museum director Professor Mogi Masato (Marine Environmental Science Division). The group listened intently to the professors' explanations and deepened their exchanges.
Through human exchanges centered on the ocean, our university will actively cooperate in strengthening global relations, including with CARICOM countries.
