Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University visits our university
On November 2024, 11, Vice President Yan Dalong of Shanghai Maritime University in China and two other delegations visited our university. The delegation was welcomed by Executive Vice President for Education and International Affairs Masashi Maita, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Engineering Shinichi Motoda, and Shanghai Maritime University's liaison faculty members, Professor Hitoshi Tamaru (Department of Maritime Systems Engineering) and Professor Koji Murai (same department), who held talks with the delegation.
Executive Director Maita expressed his gratitude for the 21 outstanding students who have been sent to our university's China-Japan-Korea Highly Professional Training Program (commonly known as the China-Japan-Korea Program). He also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given to President Iseki by Shanghai Maritime University's President Lu Jing and Vice President Shi Xin when President Iseki visited Shanghai Maritime University in December last year. Vice President Yang expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet today and his expectations for further exchange between the two universities. There was also an active exchange of opinions between faculty members from both universities on resuming exchanges that had stalled due to the COVID-12 pandemic, as well as the future use of on-demand lectures.
Shanghai Maritime University is a national comprehensive university located in Shanghai, China, which is characterized by marine navigation technology, while also harmoniously developing fields such as engineering, business administration, economics, and law. Since signing an international exchange agreement and a memorandum of understanding on student exchange with the university during the time of its predecessor, Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine, we have built a close collaborative relationship through the implementation of Japan-China-Korea programs.
Our university will continue to promote collaboration and cooperation with Shanghai Maritime University.
