On October 4, 10, JANG Young-Soo, President of Pukyong National University in South Korea and YOON Il, Director of International Exchange Office, visited YNU.President Jean studied at Tokyo University of Fisheries, the predecessor of our university, as an international student, and is an alumnus of our university who obtained a doctorate.

　President Jang and Director Yoon held talks with President Toshio Iseki, Executive Vice President for Education and International Affairs Masashi Maita, Vice President for Industry-Academia Collaboration and Innovation, and Associate Professor Minoru Haga. We had a lively exchange of views on the future of universities, including the achievements of university reforms and measures to attract students in anticipation of the declining birthrate and aging society.

　After the meeting, President Zhang gave a special lecture titled "Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology and I" at Rakusui Kaikan Suzuki Zenko Hall, in front of more than 70 faculty, staff and students, which is almost the maximum capacity of the university, while maintaining social distancing. , his own experience of studying abroad, the social changes in Japan and South Korea amidst the turbulent world situation since the 1980s, and the efforts of Pukyong National University in anticipation of changes in the environment surrounding universities in the future.
