The Republic of Kiribati is an island nation consisting of 33 atolls and islands, and shares the same challenges as Japan: fisheries resources, the marine environment, and the development of human resources involved in the ocean. As the only marine university in Japan, our university will continue to contribute to the resolution of common issues in the field of marine science and the sustainable development and utilization of the ocean through exchanges with island nations such as the Republic of Kiribati.
