The World Maritime University is an international maritime organization of the United Nations with the main purpose of assisting developing countries.IMO)1983This educational institution was established in XNUMX, and the students who visited this time are adult graduate students supported by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation as Sasakawa Scholarship Students. 

At our university, after hearing an overview of our university from Professor Yoshinori Miyamoto, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Resources and Environment, we received a mini-lecture on the current state of octopus resources and artificial breeding technology from Associate Professor Shigeki Dan (Marine Bioresources Division).After the lecture, we visited Professor Daisuke Shiode (Marine Bioresources Division)'s circulating tank laboratory, and Assistant Professor Keiichiro Kowaki (Marine Bioresources Department)'s transgenic breeding room and infection laboratory.After receiving explanations about their research and facilities from each faculty member, the students actively asked questions and seemed to be very interested in research at our university.

Our university will continue to actively cooperate in global human resource development projects in the maritime and marine fields.
