President of Korea Maritime University visits our university
On June 5nd, 6, President Deog-Hee of DOH and two others from Korea Maritime University, a partner school of our university, visited our university.
President Toshio Iseki, Executive Director/Vice President for Education and International Affairs Masashi Maita, and Professor Daisuke Watabe of the Department of Distribution and Information Engineering welcomed the delegation and held a meeting.At the meeting, we reviewed the overview of our university, the latest international exchanges between the two universities, such as the achievements of the Oceanus Plus Program, which will be described later, and the Hannara of Korea Ocean University disembarked at Punghae Pier in May 5. It was shared that 5 students visited the university at the time of the meeting, and they reconfirmed that they will continue to deepen exchanges between the two universities.After that, Assistant Professor Gen Nakamura, Department of Marine Environmental Science, who conducts basic morphological research on cetaceans, guided the group to the University's Marine Science Museum and Whale Gallery.
Since the conclusion of an international exchange agreement in 1997, our university and Korea Maritime University have actively engaged in academic exchanges.In particular, in the "Oceanus Program", an international collaborative educational program in the ocean based on the "Japan-China-Korea version of Erasmus", a project to strengthen the global expansion of universities adopted in 28, we have established a credit transfer system in Japan, China and South Korea. We have produced double degree students, and since 3, we have been implementing the Oceanus Plus Program, which has expanded and developed while inheriting the results.
