Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Japan (Science, Innovation, Education) visits our university

Reiwa5Years8Month18In Japan, Mr. Hariv Jeppy, Minister of Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Japan (Science, Innovation and Education) visited our university.

From our university, Masashi Maita, Executive Vice President for Education and International Affairs, Professor Hiroyasu Kifune of the Department of Marine Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Assistant Professor Shohei Yoneda of the Department of Marine Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, and a government-sponsored international student from South Africa welcomed us and offered a scholarship for South African students. There was a lively exchange of opinions centering on student exchange, such as the fields that can be studied at this university.Minister Hariv introduced the establishment of the Center for Japanese Studies in the Republic of South Africa and said that he would like more Japanese students to come to South Africa to study.

 After the meeting, Mr. Masato Motegi, Director of the Institute, visited the University's Marine Science Museum.

Through this visit, I was able to reaffirm the future potential of active student exchange with the Republic of South Africa, and it was a meaningful opportunity for our university.
