In 2008, our university started research on a battery propulsion ship equipped with a lithium-ion battery for quick charging.Utilizing the technology and know-how accumulated through research, since 2019, we have collaborated with New Transportation Systems Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Mihama Town, Fukui Prefecture, and cooperated in the development and construction of a battery-powered sightseeing boat.On April 2023, 4, an opening ceremony was held at the Mihama Town Lake Center in Mihama Town, Fukui Prefecture, and a letter of appreciation was awarded for the contribution to this development.
