We will announce the basic management philosophy stipulated in Article 6, Paragraph 1 of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology Business Rules.
National University Corporation Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology Fundamental Philosophy
Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology was established in October 15 through the merger of Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine and Tokyo University of Fisheries, and is the only marine university in Japan.Taking full advantage of the characteristics and individuality of both universities, which boast a history and tradition of more than 10 years, we have established a new philosophy: "To contribute to the sustainable development of human society, we aim to provide basic and applied science and technology related to the study of the oceans." Under the slogan of “Education and research,” we will promote higher education related to the ocean. It is an important mission of our university to become a central base for education and research to "know the sea, protect the sea, and use the sea" and to play a role in the development of Japan as a maritime nation.
Based on this basic perspective, our university aims to be an internationally outstanding education and research center on the ocean, and conducts comprehensive education and research on the ocean, centered on the training of highly specialized professionals, including researchers.

Article XNUMX An incorporated administrative agency shall prepare a statement of business procedures and obtain approval from the competent minister when commencing business.The same shall apply when attempting to change this.
2. The Business Procedures described in the preceding paragraph stipulates the system to ensure that the execution of duties by officers (excluding auditors) conforms to this Act, individual laws and other laws and regulations, and to ensure the appropriateness of the operations of the incorporated administrative agency. Matters related to the establishment of a system for conducting business and other matters specified by ordinance of the competent ministry shall be entered.
3. When an Incorporated Administrative Agency receives the authorization set forth in Paragraph XNUMX, it shall, without delay, make public its Business Procedures.
