Duties

Serves as a junior third officer on a training ship of the University (maximum of 3 consecutive days), and is responsible for navigation watch, berth watch, port entry/arrival work arrangement, guidance to trainees, and general onboard office work.

*We may order you to relocate as necessary for work.

Qualifications

1 Japanese nationals 
 For foreign nationals, limited to those who have a status of residence with no restrictions on activities in Japan
 Must have sufficient Japanese proficiency to work on a training ship
2 Must have a university (bachelor's) degree or higher in Japan or a foreign country
3 Qualified as third-class marine engineer (navigation) or higher
4 First-class special maritime radio operator license or third-class maritime communication written test passer
5 It is desirable to be a person who has acquired ship health manager qualifications or who has acquired the classroom credits necessary for acquiring ship health manager qualifications.
6 Desirable to have boarding experience
7 Those who are interested in ships and the ocean, and who are enthusiastic about education and research

* 2-5 includes those who are expected to acquire

However, the following persons cannot apply.
1. A person who has been sentenced to imprisonment or a heavier punishment and has completed the execution of the sentence, or is on a suspended period of execution of the sentence, or has not yet been subject to the execution of the sentence.
2. Persons who have been disciplinarily dismissed or have received an equivalent disposition, and two years have not passed since the date of the disposition.

Salary

Hourly wage: Approximately 1,600 yen (for university graduates) calculated based on experience.
