Duties

Worked onboard as a deck member of a training ship of the university (longest consecutive3months), and the main duties are those related to the deck section.

*We may order you to relocate as necessary for work.

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or above * Graduates of a seafarer training institution or those with seafaring experience are preferred.
  2. Those who hold a small boat license (class 2 or above) or are scheduled to obtain one.
  3. Person with Japanese nationality
    Foreign nationals must have a residence status that does not restrict their activities in Japan. They must have a level of Japanese language proficiency that does not impede working on a training ship.

However, the following persons cannot apply.

  1. A person who has been sentenced to imprisonment or more and has not yet completed the execution of that sentence, or a person who is on a suspended sentence, or a person who has not yet completed the execution of that sentence
  2. A person who has been subject to disciplinary dismissal or equivalent disposition, and two years have not passed since the date of the disposition.

Training ships affiliated with Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (Each training ship with Tokyo Port as a regular port)
Umitakamaru, Shinyomaru, Shiojimaru
(Other than the voyage period, it will be commuting to the ship anchored at the fixed port and watching.)

Salary

Salary rules for university staff apply (calculated based on career history)

Monthly salary: Starting salary 256,560 yen (for high school graduates. Regional allowance included.)
Allowances: housing allowance, dependent allowance, etc. (provided if prescribed requirements are met)

Year-end/diligence allowance, retirement allowance (paid according to length of service)

Social insurance, etc.

Working hours and holidays

(1) Working hours: 1 hours per day while at sea, 8 hours 1 minutes per day while at anchor
(2) Holidays: 1 days on average per week (varies during voyage), annual paid leave, and other leave systems

Screening method

1. First selection: Document screening

2. Second selection: Interviews will be held for successful applicants.
(Interviews are scheduled to be conducted online, but applicants will be responsible for communication and travel expenses related to the interview. Details of the interview time and other details will be announced at a later date.)
