On December 2019th, 12 (Thursday), we held the first ``Continuous Fisheries Seminar for Living with the Sea'' at the Kesennuma Fish Market Conference Room (Kesennuma Fish Market 5F).In cooperation with Kesennuma City, this year marks the sixth year of holding seminars for fishermen and fisheries-related businesses. This season, we plan to hold public lectures by a wide range of lecturers from academia, the private sector, and the government on a wide range of matters related to fisheries, including resources, processing, distribution, and refrigeration.
The first lecturer was Ruri Shoji, Vice President (in charge of student support and public relations) of the university.
"What do we need to consider when selecting the optimal route to our destination?", and what speeds and conditions can the ship operate in the winds and waves that we expect to encounter? In addition, many people, mainly fishermen, participated in the content that introduced the best route for arriving early and reducing fuel consumption.
In particular, the introduction of the "weather routing system", which takes into consideration the important knowledge and the latest technology of automatic operation ships, and the effects of weather, sea conditions, and ocean currents, on ocean-going commercial ships. In the midst of progress, this was a very valuable story that could predict that it would be introduced to fishing boats someday.
In the "Sea and Living Fisheries Seminar", we provide new knowledge and the latest research information, and select the technologies required in each region and the themes that are urgently needed at that time. To do.Thank you to everyone who came to the seminar.
