On November 2020, 11 (Friday), we held the 27st consecutive seminar on "living with the sea", which is the 7th year of this season.

There were 30 people at the Kesennuma Fisheries Promotion Center, which was the venue, and from this season, 22 people participated in the "online course" as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus infectious disease, and a total of 52 people participated. bottom.

The first lecture was given by Professor Lu Xiaobo of the University's Department of Ocean Policy and Culture. , gave a lecture on the possibility of realizing the smart fisheries industry and the challenges it faces.

First, Professor Lou introduced the governmental development of the "smart fisheries industry" that the Fisheries Agency aims to realize. I explained that it may facilitate evaluation and management.

Next, with regard to the development of retail businesses such as supermarkets and convenience stores and e-commerce, after explaining the flow of new business formats that have been developed in line with the changing times, the scale of the EC market related to food and beverages is expected to increase in 2018. He pointed out that the EC rate is less than 7% of the 3 trillion yen market, and that it is difficult to predict the stable production and supply of fresh marine products.

He also explained that there is plenty of room for expansion by collaborating with fishery producers to predict production and build new efficient distribution arrangements as a countermeasure.

In this season as well, we will collaborate with Kesennuma City to plan open lectures by a wide range of instructors on a wide range of matters related to fisheries for fishermen and fisheries-related businesses. I will continue.
