On July 2014, 7 (Friday), we held a "Career Path Seminar for Female Students" at the Etchujima Campus (Etchujima Kaikan 25F Seminar Room).
Every year, this “Career Path Seminar for Female Students” is held on the same day as the Open Campus. This year as well, it was held on the same day as the summer open campus of the Faculty of Marine Engineering.
In addition, this time, with the theme of "a seminar for female students who want to learn about the sea and want to work", we invited three women who are currently active in maritime and ocean-related organizations. Lectures were given on topics such as what it means to become a person and what it means to get a job, how to make use of research activities during your student days in job hunting and work, and what it means for women to work in society.Undergraduate and graduate students who started job hunting, high school students and their parents listened intently to the seniors' lectures.
In the latter half of the session, participants were divided into groups and had a free-to-talk discussion where they asked questions directly to their seniors. It was a lively talk time with various questions about job hunting, going on to higher education, future visions and lifestyles.
