Marine AI and Data Science Degree Program Education Fund

Marine AI and Data Science Degree Program Education Fund

Supports marine AI and data science degree programs.

Purpose of the fund

The Marine AI and Data Science Degree Program, a five-year doctoral program, is led by the Marine AI Development and Evaluation Center (MAIDEC), and is working to develop doctoral talent who can lead social implementation by using big data and artificial intelligence appropriately, based on the university's knowledge of the marine field and extensive field experience.

In November 11, we established the Marine AI Consortium with partner institutions to continuously develop and exchange human resources and create new collaborative research. Through the Marine AI Matching Week, which matches internships in collaboration with the Marine AI Consortium, as well as internships both domestically and overseas, we are working to foster an image of career paths for students and build a system that allows doctoral-level personnel to play an even more active role in the marine field.

There is strong demand from the marine industry for the development of AI talent, and if AI technology is implemented in society, it will enable society as a whole to balance resource and environmental protection with increased food production and stable supply, and to solve the labor shortage problem in a society with a declining birthrate and aging population. In addition, the new high-value-added services that are created as a result can be expanded overseas, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We appreciate your support in supporting these world-leading students.

Student feedback on financial support

?I am grateful that I don't have to cut into my research time by taking on part-time jobs that are not particularly related to my research activities.
?The payment of tuition fees as an RA not only reduces the financial burden, but also contributes greatly to creating an environment in which students can concentrate on their research activities by providing a sense of psychological security.
?You can have a wider range of options for research-related equipment. (Research funding)

Support from the Marine AI Consortium

This program aims to nurture doctoral candidates who will lead not only in academia but also in industry. To that end, we believe it is important to provide students with educational and research opportunities that incorporate the perspectives of industry.

We look forward to your participation if you agree with the purpose of this program and will help make it a success.
