Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology and the Japan Society of Fisheries Science co-sponsored the symposium for the promotion of gender equality on the following dates.
With the changes in society, we have entered an era in which we must consider the creation of a system in which research can be continued while giving birth and raising children. "Gender equality" is one of the important issues in modern society where diversity is required.Therefore, our university will hold a symposium jointly with the Japanese Society of Fisheries Science to provide an opportunity to think about gender equality in the field of fisheries, which is particularly relevant to our university.We welcome Ms. Hisako Otsubo, who has devoted herself to gender equality at the Liaison Committee of Academic Societies for many years, and will first give a keynote speech on the content and background of discussions on "gender equality" in academic societies.Next, she asked foreign researchers about child-rearing in Japan, and at the end, based on the current situation, she would like to use this as an opportunity to think about future gender equality projects.We look forward to your participation.
