Faculty introduction
Under the slogan of “from the sea to the future,” the Faculty of Ocean Engineering is nurturing strong young people who can fly into the world and into the future. Our goal is to become a professional engineer with leadership skills and practical engineering knowledge and skills. For this reason, the Faculty of Marine Engineering has three departments: Maritime System Engineering, Marine Electronic Mechanical Engineering, and Logistics Information Engineering, each of which conducts its own unique educational and research activities. In the Department of Maritime System Engineering, we train navigators, ship operation engineers, and engineers who support the maritime industry as advanced maritime engineers with an international perspective. We are working to develop human resources who have skills and are involved in research and development and operation not only as engineers but also as manufacturers of ships and land. The Distribution Information Engineering Department, as the only engineering department in a national university specializing in logistics, is working to train engineers who can handle logistics problems in Japan and the world from an engineering and mathematical perspective. All departments practice practical education that emphasizes reality, actual things, and actual sites. In addition, we are proud of our high employment rate by taking advantage of the characteristics of the small number of undergraduates and providing detailed study guidance and career guidance.

Relationship between Faculty of Ocean Engineering and SDGs
Until the Meiji period, ships were sailing ships powered by the wind. Many modern ships are operated by internal combustion engines, but it can be said that the operation of ships is highly consistent with the SDGs in the first place. This is because once a ship, which takes a long time to sail across the vast ocean from country to country, once set out on a voyage, it is difficult to supply new fuel, water, and food.Today, we thoroughly think about how to efficiently use the resources on board ships, how to avoid waste, and how to reduce waste. As an operator, it is a matter of course for us to continue our work, and I believe that this way of thinking itself will lead to the achievement of the SDGs.Through joint research with various companies, the Faculty conducts education and research aimed at achieving the SDGs.
Introduction of each department
Undergraduate Course of Maritime Systems Engineering
Through the traditional "all-round education" of the Department of Maritime Systems Engineering and practical education such as ship training and maritime bob博彩公司_申博体育在线-投注*官网 education, we aim to develop excellent maritime engineers with high skills, that is, XNUMX) boarding experience. XNUMX) A wide range of "manufacturing" including the design and development of maritime-related equipment, devices and systems, and the design and supervision of ports and routes from the perspective of ship operation. XNUMX) Next-generation maritime engineers who can demonstrate global leadership and lead maritime education around the world.
Undergraduate Course of Marine Electronics and Mechanical Engineering
Interested in issues related to marine machinery, marine equipment, and the marine environment, and with a wide range of education and a rich sense of humanity, knowledge in a wide range of technical fields ranging from equipment development to management and operation, in which theory and practice are in harmony. We aim to develop highly specialized professionals who will acquire the ability to solve problems based on the basics and who can play an active role internationally.
Undergraduate Course of Logistics and Information Engineering
Interested in global economic activities, including logistics that support food, clothing, and shelter in Japan, information systems that make them function at a high level, and environmental measures. We aim to develop highly specialized professionals who can acquire the advanced skills necessary to solve problems and are able to play an active role internationally.
