This is a department that researches how to deliver safe, secure, and delicious seafood from the production site to the dining table.
Q What kind of classes do you teach?

I am in charge of biochemistry, food processing, and various experiments and practical training.
Q What kind of research are you doing?What do you find interesting about that research?

We are conducting research that will lead to the development of delicious foods and eco-bags using raw materials that are not currently on the table.

Q What inspired you to do this research?Please tell us about the episodes that you fell in love with, the episodes that lead to your current research, etc.

Ever since I was little, I have loved collecting fish, shrimp and crabs.She entered a university with a fishery-related department, but found a job in the fishery processing industry.At first, I was confused, but when I started helping seafood processors develop new products, I became interested in seeing them develop new products and fell in love with this world.
Q What number of SDGs is your research related to?How will your research help society?Also, what kind of occupation or work do you think it will lead to?

It is related to “SDG 9 Industry and innovation infrastructure”, “SDG 14 Life below water”, and “SDG 15 Life on land”.Of course, all of this will benefit society by conducting research that leads to the development of delicious foods and eco-bags using raw materials that are not currently on the dining table.In terms of occupations, most of my graduates are working in seafood processing companies and packaging companies.

Q What are your future goals as a researcher?What kind of "dream" do you want to give to the world through your research?It doesn't have to be realistic.Please tell me your dream of becoming a teacher.

My future goal as a researcher is to see how I can apply my current research to the real world.This is called social implementation, and we aim to enable humankind to continue to live forever. It may be a small "dream", but I hope that I can reduce even one of the various worries of future human descendants.
Q: Looking ahead to 2030, what kind of research would you like to do with incoming students?

I would like to conduct research that allows students to realize how much their research is contributing to the world.
